New AMD Initiative Underway

The American Retina Foundation is beginning a new AMD campaign that will focus on the importance of ocular vitamin therapy for patients with moderate to severe risk of AMD. Alcon Laboratories will be a major sponsor for this initiative. More details will be announced to members at the 2005 ASRS Annual Meeting in Montreal.

Prudler Donation

The American Retina Foundation would like to take a moment to extend its thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Susan Prudler from Sacramento, California for their recent donation of $10,000 to the Foundation. The Prudlers have donated to the Foundation in the past as well, which has been used to fund the attendance and travel for an outstanding retina fellow-in-training at the ASRS Annual Meetings every year. Due to the Prudlers' recent donation, the Foundation will extend funding for the travel of two fellows to the Annual meeting this year.

Foundation Tax Information for Donations

The Foundation would like to remind all members that their tax information for 2004 donations has been distributed. If you have not received this information or have any questions regarding the matter, please contact the Foundation office at (904) 998-0356.

Revealing Retina Orders

The Foundation would like to remind members that personalized copies of the retinal disease booklet, The Revealing Retina, are still available for purchase. However, orders may take more than 6 to 8 weeks for fulfillment, due to the high cost of print production and the Foundation's discounted price agreement w/ the printer (at least 4 separate orders or 400 booklets must be received before the orders can be printed). At this time, two orders are waiting to be fulfilled, and we thank these members for their patience and understanding in this matter. To order copies of the Revealing Retina, contact the Vitreous Foundation office at (904) 998-0356.
